Blues drop 2 games to Fond du Lac

MONROE - The Monroe Blues adult hockey team lost two games to Fond du Lac last weekend.

The Bears defeated the Blues 5-2 Friday in Fond du Lac, and then the Blues lost their home opener 6-1 to the Bears on Saturday.

The Bears were on the board in the first 35 seconds. The Blues tied it up at the halfway point of the first period. The Bears scoring four goals in the second period, and Monroe scored in the third.

The Blues got goals from Phil Hoss and Tyler Carey. Assists were picked up by Eric Lindberg, Andy Koening, Carl Vanko and Andrew Zimmerman. Goalie Christian Blick had 35 saves.

The only goal by the Blues in Saturday's game was scored by Zimmerman on assists by Scotty Perkins and Vanko. It was a short-handed goal. Goalie Jeff Bartholemew had 32 saves.

Monroe will host the Fond du Lac Bears again at 7 p.m. Nov. 26 at SLICE arena.
