Damian Penniston, Boys Basketball: The senior scored a game-high 17 points in the Cheesemakers' 49-32 win over Stoughton including two buzzer-beating 3-pointers.
Kevin Klopfenstein, Wrestling: The sophomore went 4-0 at 125 pounds as the Cheesemakers opened the season finishing second at the Reedsburg Invitational.
Dylan Schwitz, Wrestling: The senior went 4-0 at the Reedsburg Invitational.
Aaron Hesgard, Wrestling: The sophomore went 4-0 at the Reedsburg Invitational.
Area Boys
J.J. Panoske, Brodhead Basketball: The senior scored 27 points as the Cardinals rolled past Big Foot with a 52-18 victory. He followed that up by scoring a game-high 35 points in a 62-49 win over Beloit Turner.
Alex Erickson, Darlington Basketball: The senior scored 19 points in the Redbirds' 77-37 pounding of Riverdale Dec. 2.
Dylan Severson, Brodhead-Juda Wrestling: The senior heavyweight went 5-0 at the Cambridge Invitational to help the Cardinals take third.
Area Girls
Cassidy Chambers, Darlington Basketball: Chambers scored 23 points in a 60-43 win over Belmont Nov. 29. She also scored 20 points in a 58-32 win over Boscobel Dec. 3.
Courtney Pfeuti, Albany Basketball: The senior scored 17 points in a 61-52 win over Beloit Turner Nov. 29. She scored 12 points in a 45-37 win over Six Rivers West power Potosi.
Alycia Atwell, New Glarus Basketball: Atwell scored 15 points in a 51-31 win over rival Monticello. She scored nine points in a 39-36 loss to Lodi.
