Melvin R. Boeck (Mel) of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on 9/29/2024. Mel was born on September 1, 1952 to Delbert and LaVonne(Bonnie) Boeck. He graduated from Black Hawk High School in 1971. Mel served in the United States Air Force as part of the Air Force One Maintenance Crew.
After he retired from the Air Force he made his home in Ohio where he had many friends and fellow Air Force comrades. He is survived by his four brothers, Gene (Peggy), Bob, Ken, Daniel and his six sisters, Marcia (Gene) Kolb, Sandy Mahlkuch, Donna Boeck, Dianne (Rick Barker) Herbst, Christy (Chuck) Herbst, Kathy (Rich Fallat) Alderman, and many nieces and nephews.
Mel was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-laws, Harlan Mahlkuch and Mike Herbst and two nieces Toni Boeck and Carrie Herbst. There will be a burial at Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio with full military honors at a later date. Mel will be remembered as someone who loved his family, friends, and his country. He also loved to hunt, fish, and tell stories. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
