Mary Lou Edwards, age 74 of Shullsburg, WI passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at The Monroe Clinic Hospital in Monroe, WI. She was born September 11, 1945 at St. Claire Hospital in Monroe the daughter of Jake and Minnie (Kraus) Rothenbuehler. Mary grew up in Monroe where she attended Monroe High School. She married Thurl Manly Edwards on May 4, 1963 in Darlington, WI. Following their marriage, the two moved to Shullsburg where they raised their family and had resided since.

Mary is survived by her daughters: Deb (Carl Walton) Edwards and Valarie (Kevin Kent) Leifker both of Shullsburg; her granddaughters that she adored: Alexis Leifker who she was proud of for getting on the Dean’s List at UW-Platteville, and Amanda McNett who will be attending MATC this fall; her special friends: Jim (Tammy Ihus) McNett and Holly Leslie; and three sisters: Geraldine Stamm of Monroe, Rose (Orris) Withee and Carol (Clarence) Kaderly both of Brodhead, WI and one brother; Ken (Doreen) Rothenbuehler of Janesville, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers: Rolland and Roy Rothenbuehler; and one brother-in-law: Wayne Stamm.

Mary was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Shullsburg. She enjoyed taking care of her birds, doing crossword puzzles, and tending to her flowers. Mary cherished visiting with her family and friends and the memories they created together. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (235 N. Judgement St., Shullsburg) with Rev. Stanton Bockwoldt of Centenary United Methodist Church in Shullsburg officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Shullsburg. A visitation will be held Saturday, August 15, 2020 from 11:00 A.M. until 12:45 A.M. at Erickson Funeral Home in Shullsburg. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mary’s name.
