Daniel J. Maurer, age 55, of Monroe, died Tuesday October 13, 2020 at U.W. Hospital. He was born on November 3, 1964 in Monroe, the son of Robert and Grace (Bidlingmaier) Maurer. He graduated from Monroe High School.
Daniel was a farmer; he could fix, assemble or build anything. He lived on the family dairy farm nearly all of his life, he always had pets and even from a young age he took care of them by himself. That love lasted throughout his lifetime, he loved his cows on the farm and his dog, Sheriff. Dan also took pride in caring for the land and farmed organically. He also enjoyed the outdoors. Dan attended First Baptist Church, he loved the Lord and his mom, Grace. He was also very close with his aunt and uncle, Leroy and Darlene Bidlingmaier, they spent many hours working together and helping take care of one another.
He is survived by his mother, Grace of Monroe, brothers, Jim Maurer and Tom (Ruth) Maurer, both of Monroe; sister, Lisa (Brian) Rohrbough of Colorado; nieces and nephew, Rachel Maurer and Rachael and Isaac Rohrbough; numerous cousins, and beloved second cousins, Katie and Sara Pandow, Austin and Aleigh Zettle; as well as his dog, Sheriff and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert; maternal grandparents, Carl and Florence Bidlingmaier; and paternal grandparents, Fred and Marie Maurer.
