Vacancies on Blackhawk Tech College Board filled

JANESVILLE - The Blackhawk Technical College Board Appointment Committee met on March 14 to conduct a public hearing and an Appointment Committee meeting to fill three vacancies on the BTC Board.

The Appointment Committee for the Blackhawk Technical College district board is comprised of the Rock County and Green County Board Chairpersons, the two counties that comprise the Blackhawk district. Rock County Board Chairperson Russ Podzilni serves as chairperson of the committee, and the other member is Art Carter, Green County Board chairperson.

The committee reappointed incumbent Traci Davis, Juda, in the employer member category, and newcomers Rachel Andres, Janesville, in the employee member category, and Steve Pophal, Janesville, in the school district administrator category, all for three-year terms.

Davis is the district administrator, principal and director of pupil services at the Juda School District and is completing her first term on the board. Andres is the manufacturing development manager at Prent Corporation in Janesville. Pophal is employed as the superintendent of the School District of Janesville.

Board members are sworn in at the annual meeting on the second Monday in July and are subject to confirmation by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board. The three-year terms begin July 1 and end June 30, 2021.
