MONROE - The Monroe Swiss Singers will be hosting its 45th Annual Swissfest at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6 in the Grand Hall of Turner Hall in Monroe. Sharing the stage and program will be the Männerchor New Glarus and the New Glarus Yodel Club.

Alphorns, accordions, Swiss-coin rolling, Swiss flag-throwing and yodeling will be part of the show. Special performers this year will include the Squeezebox Night Ensemble, a group of accordionists led by Del Heins who meet monthly in the Turner Hall Ratskeller for a jam session, and local yodeler Toni Blum Seitz, who provided the musical background for a national gum commercial. Brianna Ditzenberger, the 2012 Cheese Days ambassador, will also make an appearance.

The Swiss Singers held its first Swissfest in November of 1963, with 19 charter members . The group has more than 40 singers today.

General seating tickets are $8 in advance and are available in Turner Hall's Ratskeller Restaurant through Saturday, Nov. 5, or $10 at the door. Tickets for children in grades K-12 are $1 and pre-schoolers will be admitted free. Grand Hall doors will open at 1:30 p.m.

The ticket price includes both the show and a dance following the program. Music for the dance will be provided by the Greg Anderson Band. A special Swissfest menu will be featured in the Ratskeller Restaurant from 4 to 8 p.m.
