MONROE - Monroe school district's support staff will get a 1.46 percent pay raise starting July 1, down from last year's 2.07 percent increase. The school board unanimously agreed to ratify the one-year contract with the Monroe Association of Support Staff Monday.
MASS ratified the agreement prior to Monday's board meeting.
"It was a great process and went very well," said Ron Olson, the district's business administrator. He said the contract negotiations went smoothly this year with both MASS and the Monroe Education Association.
The total cost of the wage increase is $65,637 and applies to the 146 members of MASS. Members include teacher aides, custodial staff, secretarial staff and other positions.
Those in MASS can further impact their wages through education and years of experience.
