BRODHEAD - A power pole in Brodhead needed to be replaced after a semi hit it midday Wednesday, according to the Brodhead Police Department.
Police responded to the accident at the intersection of 1st Center Avenue and 4th Street at 11:35 a.m.
The driver, a 40-year-old man from Lena, was turning right onto 4th Street when the trailer attached to the semi went over the curb and struck a power pole on the terrace on 1st Center Avenue.
The power pole sustained major damage. A portion of 4th Street was closed for several hours while Brodhead Water and Light employees worked to replace it. Brodhead Public Works assisted at the scene.
Police cited the driver for unsafe turning at an intersection.
