MONROE - "Nature Refined" is the theme of an elegant six-course dinner created by Chef C. Ryan Boughton of Monroe at the Monroe Arts Center's "A Taste of Spring." This event will occur from 5 to 9 p.m. May 2 at the Ludlow Mansion, 1417 Mansion Dr., Monroe, and includes a fine art live auction, a silent auction, and live musical entertainment.
An array of fine art objects will be featured in the live auction. They include original oil and acrylic paintings by Wisconsin artists Kathy King, Deborah Meyer, Tina Duemler and Jonathan Wilde; a functional metal piece co-created by Robert Bergman and Chuck Wellington; and a hand-forged metal garden trellis by Nana Schowalter.
Some of the "one-of-a-kind experiences" on the live auction include: a weekend condominium stay at Northern Bay Resort located on the shores of Castle Rock Lake in central Wisconsin; a Garden Dinner Party for six at the home of David and Julie Buchanan; a seven-night's stay in Costa Rica; and a multi-course summer luncheon for six created by Chef Carlo Pasquino at his home in rural Blanchardville. Doug Munda of Munda Auctions in Freeport, Illinois, will be the guest auctioneer.
Nine-time Rockford Area Music Industry award-wining jazz musician Jodi Beach and her trio from Rockford will provide the evening's live entertainment with their innovative takes on familiar jazz and standard tunes. Along with Beach (vocals, keyboard), the other members of the trio are Jim McDowell (upright bass) and Tom Marken (percussion).
