MAC presents 'Waters of Wisconsin'

MONROE - Monroe Arts Center will host a free speaker presentation regarding the Wisconsin environment at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Gunderson Stiles Concert Hall, 1315 11th St., Monroe. Curt D. Meine will speak on the topic "The Waters of Wisconsin: Sustaining Our Aquatic Ecosystems."

Meine will lead a discussion of how we are to sustain the waters that sustain us.

Meine is director for conservation biology and history with the Center for Humans and Nature, senior fellow with the Aldo Leopold Foundation, research associate with the International Crane Foundation and associate adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has written and edited several books including most notably "Aldo Leopold: His Life and Work." In addition, he is coeditor of "The Essential Aldo Leopold." Both were published by the University of Wisconsin Press. He is currently co-editing a collection of essays titled "The Driftless Reader."
