WINSLOW - A 5-year-old Browntown girl is in critical condition after she was injured in a tractor accident Sunday afternoon, May 6, just south of the stateline near Winslow.
Ashlyn Stricker was still listed in critical condition as of Monday morning at Rockford Memorial Hospital.
Chad J. Stricker, 40, also of Browntown, was driving a Case International Harvester tractor southbound on Christian Hollow Road south of Stateline Road at about 3 p.m. when the tractor hit a bump, ejecting the child, according to a Stephenson County Sheriff's Department report.
The rear tractor tires then ran over her before the tractor could be stopped.
Chad Stricker and the other two passengers in the tractor, Roberta R. Stricker, 39, and Emma L. Stricker, 8, were uninjured.
Ashlyn Stricker was flown to Rockford Memorial Hospital by REACT (Regional Emergency Acute Care Transport) helicopter. The Winslow Fire Department and Leamons Ambulance also responded to the scene.
The sheriff's department is still investigating the accident.
