ROCKFORD, Ill. — Fehr Graham, a leading Midwest engineering and environmental firm, announced the hiring of Ramona Thompson, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, as Human Resources Leader.
Thompson is an accomplished human resources professional who has more than 20 years of experience leading strategies, operations and cross-functional teams, most recently at FHN in Freeport.
At Fehr Graham, Thompson supports the firm’s administrative division by leading initiatives that focus on the firm’s nearly 200 employees. Some of those initiatives are talent acquisition, career pathways and employee engagement.
“Ramona is strategic in her approach to human resources management,” said Todd Shankland, Chief Financial Officer and one of the firm’s owners. “She’s passionate about helping employees grow in their careers and finding ways to bolster engagement across the firm.”
Thompson holds a certificate in Executive Leadership from Cornell University. She was recognized as a Top 100 HR Professional from OnCon Icon Awards in 2020. She has a master’s degree in Human Resource Administration from Central Michigan University, a bachelor’s degree in Business Leadership from Baker College and an associate degree in Liberal Arts from Henry Ford Community College. Thompson is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources and Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional. She is also certified in Human Resources Project Management.
She lives in the Freeport area with her husband, Kevin, two sons, Richie and Adam, and daughter, Sophia.
