Lafayette County Sheriff 

DARLINGTON – Archie E. Dean, 54, Avondale, Arkansas, reported hitting a deer at 12:42 a.m. Dec. 13 on Wis. 11, Town of Wayne. His 2018 Ford sustained functional damage. 

On Dec. 20: 

● Ryan M. Rygh, 32, South Wayne, reported hitting a deer at 6:53 a.m. on Spring Brook Road, Town of Wayne. His 2020 Ford sustained minor damage. 

● David L. Gabel, 77, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 9:31 a.m. on Riverside Road, Town of Wiota. His 2015 Dodge sustained minor damage. 

On Dec. 23: 

● Christopher J. Jackson, 51, Apopka, Florida, was transported by Shullsburg EMS to the hospital for

evaluation of injuries sustained from a one-vehicle accident at 5:20 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg. He was eastbound operating a 2019 Freightliner when he entered the ditch, hit a bridge, drove through a fence and hit a tree. The semi sustained disabling damage. It was towed. Shullsburg Fire assisted. 

● Hans P. McGrath, 74, Monroe, reported hitting a deer at 5:13 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington. His 2013 Chevrolet sustained moderate damage. 

● No injuries were reported from a vehicle vs. horse accident at 10:09 p.m. Dec. 25 on County Z, Town of Darlington. The driver was eastbound when she hit a horse. Her 2013 Ford sustained moderate damage.
