Walter D. "Walt" Flood age 75, of rural Monticello, Wisconsin died Thursday, September 27, 2012 at his home. He was born November 9, 1936 in Madison, WI the son of William & Alice (Thickpenny) Flood and attended Albany Schools.

Walter married Gloria Francis on October 5, 1957 in Albany, WI and they farmed in Albany Township on the family farm. Walt later was a carpenter for Local #836 of Janesville until retiring and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, wood cutting, traveling & his dogs.

Surviving are his wife, Gloria Flood of rural Monticello, WI; son, Kim Herritz of Madison, WI; daughters, Tammy (Joe) Carvalho of Buffalo, NY, Terri (Mike) Hughes of Blanchardville, WI, & Kelli (David) Chaffee of Blanchardville, WI; brother, Willie (Joan) Flood of rural Brodhead; sister, Dorothy (Edwin) Laskowski of Beloit, WI; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, & cousins. He is predeceased by his parents and brothers, Robert, Donald, & Howard "Mike" Flood.

A Celebration of Walt's Life will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Drive & N. 18th Avenue in Monroe, WI with Pastor Pat Soddy and Rev. Randy Booth officiating.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

A memorial fund has been established in the memory of Walt.
