Viola M. Weiss, age 95 of Monroe, died on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on June 22, 1915, the daughter of Baltz and Louise (Buehl) Schindler. Viola and Theodore R. Weiss were married on November 19, 1936 in Monroe. She farmed with her husband, Ted in Monroe Township. Viola enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, but she especially loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Eugene (Carol) Weiss and Theodore (Edna) Weiss both of rural Monroe; 6 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband of 73 years; a sister, Eleanor Goepfert and a step grandson, Todd Babler.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 10, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, with Rev. David Busker officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 at the funeral home.
