Vernon Mickelson
ARGYLE - Vernon Mickelson, age 85, formerly of Argyle, died on Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc, WI. He was born on June 15, 1924, in Brigham Township to George A. and Gena (Espeseth) Mickelson. He graduated from Barneveld High School in 1942. He served our country in the US Army from 1949-1950. He returned home to work in the dairy industry with Dean's Foods. He retired in 1989 and moved from his home in Orfordville to a small farm in Argyle. Here he tended his horses, collected antiques, restored horse drawn wagons and farm equipment, and attended numerous auctions and sales.

Vernon is survived by his brother, Vernell Mickelson, Oconomowoc, WI, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Milo, Alvin, Emery and Marvin; three sisters, June (Glenn) Spurley, Dorothy (Sylvan) Johnson and infant sister, Gladys.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the ELLESTAD CAMACHO FUNERAL HOME, 500 N. 8th Street, Mt. Horeb, WI 53572 with Rev. William Gary Kobs officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the ELLESTAD CAMACHO FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow at the West Blue Mounds Lutheran Cemetery in Blue Mounds Township, WI.
