MONROE - On Thursday, Jan. 30:

• Julia Rita Megellan, 20, Monroe, was uninjured after a deer vs. vehicle collision on County Y in the W7600 Block, Town of Jordan at 6:30 a.m. The vehicle was towed from the ditch and driven from the scene.

• Alvin W. Wald, 64, Monroe, and Diane L. Sedbrook, 56, Brodhead, were uninjured after a two-vehicle crash on 700 Vine Street, Village of Albany at 1:01 p.m. Wald was clearing snow and spreading lime chips in a Green County Highway truck when Sedbrook said she "gunned" her truck forward trying to clear the plow truck when the wing of the plow blade sideswiped Sedbrook's truck.

• Markus J. Bronkema, 26, Dakota, Ill., sustained injuries in a one-vehicle rollover accident on Wis. 11 east of Hiltbrand Lane, Sylvester Township at 2:26 p.m. Bronkema was eastbound on Wis. 11 when he lost control of his vehicle and slid north into the median. The pickup slid through the median and came back into the westbound lanes, then overturned. Bronkema was transported to the Monroe Clinic Hospital by Monroe EMS for treatment of his injuries. The pickup sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.

• While deputies were checking on vehicles in the ditch at W6900 Wis. 11, Town of Clarno, at 4:19 p.m. a vehicle operated by Shirley A. Tullis, 55, Monroe, was slowing down due to the vehicles in the ditch when her vehicle started to slide and struck a parked car on the shoulder. The car, owned by Troy R. Stauffer, 23, South Wayne, sustained minor damage. Tullis' car continued to slide and hit a vehicle in the ditch owned by Donald J Henderson's, 28, Stockton. No one was injured and all the vehicles were driven from the scene.

• Deputies and Brooklyn Fire/EMS were dispatched to the area of Wis. 104 and Amidon Road, Brooklyn Township, for a two-vehicle accident with minor injuries at 4:23 p.m. Julie A. Speropulos, 45, Evansville, was southbound on Wis. 104 when slowing for traffic her vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle operated by Jennifer E. Cote, 36, Evansville, due to the icy roadway. Speropulos was injured but declined EMS transport.

• Marie A. Swedlund, 58, Monroe, was uninjured in a rollover crash at W4600 Wis. 11, Town of Sylvester at 5:21 p.m. Swedlund was eastbound on Wis. 11 when a car ahead of her applied its breaks. When Swedlund applied her brakes her vehicle swerved on the ice and snow on the road. Swedlund went into the median where her car rolled once and came to a rest on its wheels.

• Douglas L. Wilder, 63, Loves Park, Ill., was uninjured in a one-vehicle wreck at 5:30 p.m. Wilder was northbound on Wis. 69 when the vehicle he was following suddenly braked. Wilder took evasive action and lost control of his vehicle, which entered the west ditch and became stuck.

• Garret Thomas Wussow, 18, Fitchburg, was uninjured in a one-vehicle rollover in the N9200 block of Wis. 69 north of Windmill Ridge Road, New Glarus Township. Wussow was northbound on Wis. 69 when he lost control of his vehicle on the icy roadway and the vehicle slid into the east gravel shoulder where it hit a snow-filled ditch and overturned one time, coming to rest on its wheels.

• Traci L. Pickett, 51, Monroe, was uninjured in a one-vehicle accident in the N5800 block of Wis. 69, Washington Township, at 6:29 p.m. Pickett was northbound on Wis. 69 when she lost control of her vehicle on the icy roadway and attempted to correct the vehicle but entered the ditch. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

• William F. Hustad, 68, Monticello, was uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle collision on Tunnel Road near Exeter Crossing Road, Town of Exeter at 7:08 p.m. The vehicle was driven from the scene.

• Deputies responded to 17 vehicles in the ditch at various locations in the county to assist the occupants.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Thursday Jan. 30:

• A deputy responded at 3:49 a.m. to Red School Road, New Diggings Township for a vehicle in the ditch. A deputy provided traffic control until the vehicle could be removed by a tow service.

• A deputy responded at 1:57 p.m. to Dog Hollow Road, Wiota Township, for a trailer in the ditch. Upon arrival, the owner of the trailer could not be located.
