Lena-Thelma L. Lutz-Runkle, age 78, passed away on Monday November 29, 2010 at UW Madison Hospital. She was born on April 9, 1932 to Fred Sr. and Margaret (Wieters) Tessendorf. She married Kenneth Lutz Sr. on February 21, 1950 and after he passed away she married Wayne Runkle on April 11, 1992. She was a lifetime farmer in the Lena area. Thelma cooked for the Senior Citizens in Lena for many years and she owned and operated Country Boy Restaurant in Cedarville. Many in the community loved Thelma's baked goods.

She is survived by 2 Sons; Kenneth Jr (Diane) Lutz of Lena, IL and Jon (Vicki) of Stockton, IL, 4 Daughters; Wanda (Dean) Willhite of Brodhead, WI, Beverly Spencer of Normal, IL, Bonnie (Dennis) Hale of Freeport, IL and Jacklyn (Todd) Schubert of Lena, IL. 17 Grandchildren, 10 Step Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren and 3 Step Great Grandchildren. 2 Stepsons; David Runkle of Kent, IL and Eric (Billie Jo) Runkle of Pearl City, IL, 2 Stepdaughters; Amy (Gary) Kempel of Lena, IL, Ann (Steve) Pals of Freeport, IL, 1 Brother; Fred (Carol) Tessendorf of Lena, IL, 4 Sister-In-Laws; Joyce Tessendorf, Marge Tessendorf, Pauline Lutz and Alice Lutz. Many Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband Kenneth Lutz Sr. on June 1, 1991 and Husband, Wayne Runkle on June 4, 2003. 1 Granddaughter, Brandi Willhite, 1 Son-In-Law; Jerry Spencer, 2 Brothers; Henry and Oscar Tessendorf, 5 Sisters; Adaline Tessendorf, Ada Dittmar, Gladys Nolan, Elma Johnson and Lenice Johnson.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday December 4, 2010 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lena.

Visitation will be on Friday December 3, 2010 from 3:00 till 8:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lena.

Officiating will be Rev. Rick Bader.

Internment will be at Lena Burial Park.

A memorial has been established for Hope Lodge Cancer Center at the Mayo Clinic.
