Pamela S. Rufer

Pamela S. Rufer, age 81, of Monroe, died peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Agrace Hospice Center in Fitchburg, surrounded by family. She was born on August 20, 1933 in Kenosha, the daughter of Edward and Clara (Hauser) Shepard. Pamela and Clarence C. Rufer were married on October 20, 1956 in Kenosha.

Pam and Clarence founded and operated Rufer Refrigeration and Electric in Monroe from 1966 through 1988. Pamela was a member of the Women of the Moose #599, where she achieved Star Recorder and was a member of the College of Regents. She was also a member of Monroe Women's Club, Monroe Garden Club, Monroe Antique Wheelers and Independent Order of Forresters.

Pamela loved to travel with her family, dance, play cards and bingo and enjoyed many types of arts and crafts. Throughout her lifetime she was known to some as "Adeline Cuddlefudge". Although Pamela spent most of her life in Wisconsin, she also valued her retirement time in Florida.

Surviving daughters: Nicolet (Randy) Goebel of Monroe and Shellane (Christopher Sr.) Rufer-Edseth of Mt. Horeb; grandchildren: Echoleah Rufer of Cincinnati, OH, Macylane Becker of Las Vegas, NV, Heath Goebel of Monroe, Atom Goebel of Fitchburg, Raven Goebel of Verona; step grandchildren: Brice Edseth of Hastings, NE, Chelsea Edseth and Christopher Edseth Jr. both of Mt. Horeb. She was predeceased by her parents, and husband, Clarence.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe. A Women of the Moose service will be held at 6:00 P.M., at the funeral home.

A memorial fund is being established in Pamela's memory.
