Kathryn R. Disch, age 83 of Monroe, Wisconsin, died Sunday, January 10, 2010 at New Glarus Home. She was born December 27, 1926 in Monroe, the daughter of Leo and Liz (Busch) Wassmer.
Kathryn and John F. Disch were married on April 11, 1946 at Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello and they farmed in the New Glarus area. Kathryn was a Crossing Guard for Monroe for many years.
Surviving are her daughter, Christine (Henry) Treuhardt of Monroe; grandchildren, Jodi (Joel) Medina of Belvidere, IL and Jacey (Annette) Ensor of Freeport, IL; five great-grandchildren, Mercedes, Makayla, and Marissa Medina, and Rebecca and Brianna Ensor; and brother, Robert (JoAnne) Wassmer of Tillamook, OR. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe with Rev. Lowell Stuessy officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe.
Visitation will be from noon until time of service at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
