Hilda Ammon, age 89, died on Sunday, August 23, 2009. She was born on October 30, 1919 in Argyle Wisconsin, the daughter of Robert and Anna Youssi Bahler. She married John A. Ammon on August 15, 1951. Hilda was the owner operator of Monroe Music Store in Monroe Wisconsin, later she and her husband owned and operated the Monroe Bakery for 40 years in Monroe Wisconsin, and later the Rochelle Bakery for over 20 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Robert, Alfred, William, and Roy; and four sisters: Lillian, Gertrude, Hedwig, and Ruth.

She is survived by her husband, John of Rochelle; a sister, Berniece Barry of Monroe, Wisconsin; a brother-in-law, Paul Leonard of Rockford; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle, IL.

Cremation rites will follow the visitation with her cremated remains being interred at the Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe Wisconsin.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Monroe.

Memorials to the Hub City Senior Center or DeKalb County Hospice.
