Frances A. Pfund, age 95, of Durand, IL, formerly of Monroe, died Friday December 3, 2010 at her home. She was born on October 11, 1915 in Monroe, the daughter of Emil and Mary (King) Schneider. She married Albert Peterson on October 14, 1937 in Monroe, he died in February of 1939. Frances later married Chester Pfund on April 9, 1948 in Monroe. Frances was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Monroe; she enjoyed embroidery, crossword puzzles, watching football, cooking and baking.
She is survived by a son Charles (Jennifer) Pfund of California, 2 daughters, Nancy (Brad) Aylesworth of Galena, IL and Charlotte (Marion) Miller of Durand, IL; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a special step-daughter, Mabel Foulkner of Freeport. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, 11 brothers, 2 sisters, and a daughter in infancy.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke funeral home, with Reverend Ronald E. Massen officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery, Monroe. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 12:00 O'clock until the time of service at the funeral home.
