WARREN - Elmer C. Bonjour, age 92, passed away on Wednesday December 15, 2010 at his home in Warren. He was born on September 20, 1918 in Rush Township, Jo Daviess County, IL. He was the son of John and Mary (Kuhse) Bonjour. Elmer married Alta Albrecht on November 10, 1942 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Massbach. They were married for 68 years. He attended Robinson Country School. Elmer served in the Army from 1941-1946. He was a World War 2 Veteran serving in Germany, France and Belgium. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He received battlefield commission to 2nd Lieutenant and also received the Bronze Star. Elmer farmed for 37 yrs from 1947 to 1984 in the McConnell, Stockton and Warren areas. He also sold seed corn for many years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Elmer enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, watching baseball, and making wine. He was an avid Cubs fan.

He is survived by his wife, Alta; 2 children- Ronald (Carol) Bonjour of Gratiot, WI and Nancy Hahne of Warren; 5 grandchildren- Deanna ( Dave) Eden of Bushnell, IL, Cara (Brian) Conry of Lowell, AR, Thomas (Sandy) Bonjour of Gratiot, Matt (Sharon) Hahne of Manteno, IL, Ryan (fiancé Jessica Workinger) Hahne of Warren, 3 Step grandchildren- Laurie(fiancé Art Patchen) Kuebli of Albany, WI, Jim Schlough of Monroe, WI, Jeff (Dawn) Schlough of Browntown, WI,

1 brother- John Bonjour and 1 sister- Lola Korth both of Stockton, 7- great grand children and step great grandchildren, and 1 step great great grandchild,

Preceded in death by his parents, daughter in law Charlotte Bonjour, granddaughters- Danielle Bonjour and Terri Hahne, step grandson- John Schlough, Brothers- Wilbur, Orville, and Alvin Bonjour, sister- Dorothy Albrecht.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 17, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Bartell -Leamon Funeral Home in Warren.

Funeral will be on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 2:00pm at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Warren with a visitation from 1pm until time of service.

Officiating will be Rev. Margo Peterson

Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery in Warren.

A memorial has been established in his name.
