Dwight T. Elmer, age 75, of Monroe, died on Monday, July 1, 2013 at his home. He was born on September 25, 1937 in Monroe, the son of Weston and Selma (Blum) Elmer. He was a 1955 graduate of Monroe High School.
Dwight and Donna Sundly were married on May 4, 1957 in Rockford, IL.
He served in the Wisconsin National Guard during the Berlin Crisis.
Dwight farmed all his life on the family farm, retiring in 1995.
Dwight was a member of Jordan Lutheran Church; he enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading western books, playing cards, bowling, shooting pool and going on vacations.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, of Monroe, daughter, Dawn J. Elmer of Monroe and sister, Diana Prien of Monroe; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Daniel and Duane; brother-in-law, Gordon Prien.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Perger officiating. Burial will follow in Jordan Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
