GREEN COUNTY

FELONIES

- A warrant was filed Monday, April 30, for the arrest of Richard Earl Carr, 21, Monroe, on nine Class H felony counts of using a stolen debit card in May 2011 to withdraw money from ATMs or charge purchases at gas stations in Monroe, Juda and in Orangeville, Durand and Winnebago, Ill.

- A warrant was filed Wednesday, April 25, for the arrest of John R. Karls, 47, Monroe, on three felony charges that he was growing psilocybin mushrooms in Mason jars in a basement in the 1200 block of 9th Street in Monroe, with the intent to sell them as a hallucinogenic drug. A witness quoted in the criminal complaint alleges that dealing mushrooms was Karls' sole way of supporting himself. The charges stem from incidents in February 2011, when he was initially charged with felony stalking and drug charges. He was convicted and sentenced to two years in prison. He is currently incarcerated at the Dane County Jail.
