MONROE - As part of its effort to promote the welfare of boys and girls, the Green County Association for Home and Community Education scholarship committee awards two $300 scholarships to two graduating seniors from a Green County high school.
Students must plan to attend either a two- or four-year college or university or technical college. Scholarship awards are based on factors including academics, school and community involvement, financial need and recommendations.
This year's scholarships were awarded to Haley Schmidt, Monroe High School, and Isaac Welsh, Brodhead High School. Both of the recipients have been active in 4-H and school and community events and had good letters of recommendation regarding their accomplishments and high GPAs. They have both taken many advanced courses.
