NEW GLARUS — The first Remember Me Red Run 5K is open for registration. The 5K run will start at 10 a.m. May 11 at Bailey’s Run Vineyard, N8523 Klitzke Rd., New Glarus.

This is an event for a cause close to the heart of local winemakers Janet and Todd Kuehl, who opened Bailey’s Run Vineyard in May 2018 and named it after their dog, Bailey. The winery, built high on a ridge on the outskirts of New Glarus, provides a fantastic venue for enjoying wine and views of the Wisconsin countryside.

In tune with their community, the couple realized the growing support of their winery provides an opportunity to shine a light on awareness of Alzheimer’s disease, a cause they both care about.

Both Janet and Todd lost a grandparent to Alzheimer’s. In memory of their grandparents, they created a special red wine blend called Remember Me Red.

A portion of sales for the wine go toward finding a cure for Alzheimer’s and will be back in stock in a few weeks, Janet said.

Proceeds from the Remember Me Red Run will benefit the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin.

Early-bird registration includes a t-shirt and a glass of wine in a complimentary wine glass.

Following the race, a post-race celebration with two live bands, food, beer and wine will be held until 5 p.m. Find details and register online at www.remembermeredrun.com.
