PLATTEVILLE - Korissa Prine, of Darlington, recently was inducted into the University of Wisconsin-Platteville chapters of Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma National Honors Societies. These prestigious societies recognize excellence in academic achievement during the first year of college. To be eligible for membership of Alpha Lambda Delta, students need to maintain a 3.5 or higher grade-point average and be in the top 20 percent of their class during their first year. Phi Eta Sigma is the nation's largest and oldest honor society for college freshmen. To be eligible for membership of Phi Eta Sigma, students must have a G.P.A. of at least 3.5 at the end of their first or second semester of their freshman year to be eligible to join. Once inducted, students receive a lifetime membership.
