NEW GLARUS — New Glarus Elementary School is celebrating an outstanding academic achievement following the recent release of Wisconsin’s 2025–26 state assessment results. The school earned the highest scores in English language arts (ELA), mathematics, and science among district composite results of elementary schools in Dane and Green counties.
The results highlight the strong academic performance of New Glarus Elementary School students and the ongoing work of teachers and staff to support student learning and achievement.
Wisconsin’s state assessments provide an important measure of student progress and help schools evaluate how well students are developing the knowledge and skills needed for future success. New Glarus Elementary School’s performance across all three subject areas reflects a strong foundation in the core academic areas that prepare students for continued learning in middle school and beyond.
“This is a tremendous accomplishment for our elementary school,” said New Glarus Elementary School Principal Dr. Laura Eicher. “These results reflect the daily work of our students and teachers, the support of our families, and our continued commitment to helping every student learn and grow. We are proud of the work happening in our classrooms and grateful to everyone who contributes to our students’ success.”
While state test scores provide one measure of school performance, the district recognizes that student growth involves much more than a single assessment. Building strong relationships, providing effective instruction, identifying student needs, and ensuring that every learner receives appropriate support remain essential parts of the district’s work.
New Glarus School District congratulates New Glarus Elementary School students, teachers, staff, and families on this achievement. The results are an opportunity to celebrate the school’s success while continuing the important work of helping every student reach their full potential.
