Monticello FFA Report 2019-2020

LANCASTER — On Oct. 17, 20 Monticello FFA members attended the Southwest Soils Judging Contest in Lancaster, hosted on the farm owned by Larry Jerrett. Around 50 teams competed in this competition, and Monticello was fortunate to have four members place in the top 10 individually. Harley Disch placed 10th, Carter Wirth placed 5th, Natalie Roe placed 2nd and Cade Femrite won the contest with 347 out of 400 points.

Along with these outstanding individual results, the senior team consisting of Cade Femrite, Natalie Roe, Harley Disch and Alyssa Holcomb, won the contest, earning 999 points. The team was excited to see such high scores carry over from this summer’s Wisconsin FFA State Land Judging Com-petition, where Cade, Natalie, Harley and Holcomb qualified for nationals. We are looking to continue with this same success next May, at the National Land and Range Judging contest in Oklahoma. Congratulations to all who competed at this event.
