MADISON - In less than a week, local FFA members will travel to Indianapolis for the Wisconsin Association of FFA. They will be attending, competing and participating at the National FFA Convention along with advisors, parents and alumni.

The National FFA Convention brings together tens of thousands of people for four consecutive days, from Wednesday to Saturday. This year, attendees will listen to a keynote speech from Laila Ali, a concert from Rascal Flatts and watch a rodeo. They will also participate in service projects, tours, workshops and the country's largest ag expo for students.

Below are local members competing for national titles. Coverage can be seen on FFA.org/convention:

During the National Officer Candidate and Agriscience Fair session at 11 a.m. Friday, Madison Russell from the Shullsburg FFA will be recognized in division one of the animal systems category, and Zachary Woodworth, Shullsburg FFA, will be recognized in division three in the power, structural and technical systems. Samantha Holmstrom, Pecatonica FFA, will perform in the 2017 National FFA Band.
