Monroe Middle School students James Wahl and Emma Tran had an idea to hold a game night in order to raise money for cancer and hypoplastic left heart syndrome. 

They took the idea to their teacher, Michelle Benzschawel, who helped them plan and host the game night. 

The game night included board games, music, trivia, a concession stand and photo booth that raised a few hundred dollars. A hat day was also held.
