Darlington High School theater to perform musical ‘Annie’
Annie Production

DARLINGTON — Optimism, acts of kindness and a hope for a better tomorrow, all can be found at Darlington High School’s production of the classic musical, Annie.

Annie follows a cheerful orphan living in a harsh New York City orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. After Annie is chosen to spend Christmas with billionaire Oliver Warbucks, her optimism and determination begin to change the lives of those around her. When Warbucks tries to help Annie find her long-lost parents, a scheme develops involving people who want to take advantage of her. Ultimately, Annie finds a loving home and a hopeful new future.

Students featured in this musical include: Lacey Fitzsimons (Annie), Marcus Kendall (Oliver Warbucks), Harper Wamsley (Grace), Thea Kammerud (Miss Hannigan), Emanuel Bello (Rooster), Kate McGranahan (Lily), Austia Stauffacher (July), Lily King (Tessie), Zoe Mau (Pepper), Lillian Barker (Duffy), Lyla Olson (Molly) and Joanna Ortiz (Kate), along with many other actors.

Advanced tickets for the general public will go on sale Nov. 2 through the school’s online ticketing platform, OnTheStage. Tickets will be $10, and assigned seating can be selected online at the time of purchase. Tickets will be sold at the door (if available), but advanced tickets are encouraged.

This year’s show is the weekend before Thanksgiving — be sure to check the Darlington High School Facebook page and school website in October for further ticketing information.

Annie is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.mtishows.com.
