'Shop with a Cop' needs your support

For the past several years, the Green County Law Enforcement Administrators Association (GCLEAA) has sponsored the "Shop with a Cop" program. This is a program that helps underprivileged kids have a Merry Christmas that they might not have had without our help. Having been actively involved in the program for the past several years, I can't even describe how excited and thrilled kids have been to be chosen to receive those special Christmas gifts they thought they would never get. The program, however, would not exist without the help and support of private donations.

The GCLEAA is asking for donations to keep this program active. Your generosity in the past has made the "Shop with a Cop" program a fantastic success and we hope we can continue to help less fortunate kids for many years to come. One hundred percent of all donated monies are put into the program, with all participants involved volunteering their services so that each penny donated goes to buying Christmas presents for our kids.

Walmart of Monroe has generously participated each year, providing personnel to assist our law enforcement agencies, providing snacks to the kids and donating prizes and even money to the program as well.

Any donations can be forwarded to our local law enforcement agency with checks made out to "Shop with a Cop." Your donation can brighten the Christmas of a youngster that thought he or she didn't have much to look forward to. Christmas can be a depressing time for some. Your help can brighten Christmas and brighten the life of young person who, I'm sure, will always remember the generosity of those who care.
