For many reasons, Wednesday night's speech by President Obama on health care was intriguing political theater. But the bit part played by Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., took center stage.
Mr. Wilson, in response to the president's assertion that illegal immigrants will not be covered in health care reform, shouted "You lie" at the president.
Democrats were aghast. Did you see House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's reaction in the background?! And Wilson quickly apologized for his outburst.
What do you think?
My question today is: Do you think Rep. Wilson's "shout-out" was appropriate? Do you agree with him? Does Rep. Wilson rule for speaking out? Or is he a jerk for breaking decorum?
