The Times was supposed to begin today testing in the paper of the sixth and final potential new comic strip, Non Sequitur. For the past 10 weeks, weve tested five new strips for two weeks each. One of the six strips we test will replace Kim and Jason, which we stopped publishing earlier this summer.
But due to a snag with the company that provides Non Sequitur, we were unable to access new strips until after deadline this morning. So in todays paper we published another strip of Cul de Sac, which we tested the past two weeks. Well run Non Sequitur for 11 days rather than 12 over the next two weeks.
At that point, we will place in our regular rotation the strip that fared best in the 12-week testing period. I think I can safely say it wont be Cul de Sac, which didnt get very favorable reviews from our readers.
