Taylor powers Glarner Knights

NEW GLARUS - Senior running back Trey Taylor rushed for 117 yards and scored three touchdowns to power New Glarus-Monticello to a 49-0 win over Wisconsin Heights Friday.

New Glarus-Monticello (2-5, 2-1 Capitol South) forced three turnovers (two fumbles and one interception). Taylor scored on a 2-yard run in the first quarter to spark the Knights. New Glarus-Monticello senior Gavin Binger had an 8-yard TD run in the second quarter to extend the Knights' lead to 12-0.

Binger tossed a 23-yard TD pass to Nick Santamassino and Tanner Jelle ran in the two-point conversion to extend the lead to 20-0. Taylor also had 3 and 27-yard TD runs in the game. Binger connected with sophomore Cullen Brooks on a 9-yard TD pass later in the second quarter to give the Knights a 35-0 lead at the half. It marks the second straight win for the Knights.

"I said let's peak at the end and make the playoffs," New Glarus-Monticello coach Desie Breadon said. "All of the guys who got in played fantastic. I knew they (Wisconsin Heights) could be dangerous. We had a really good week of practice. I knew with the way we practiced this would be the way we played."

New Glarus-Monticello senior Austin Schlueter had a 3-yard TD run in the second half for the Knights.

The Glarner Knights host Cambridge next Friday. With a win, the Knights will be eligible for the playoffs.



BLACK HAWK 46,

HIGHLAND 12

SOUTH WAYNE - Jacob Quinn and Chase Stietz each scored two touchdowns to propel the Warriors past the Cardinals.

With the win, the Warriors are eligible for the playoffs.

Black Hawk (5-2 overall, 4-2 Six Rivers Conference) led 40-0 by halftime.

Quinn scored the first TD of the game on a 6-yard run and added another scoring run of 59 yards later in the first half. Quinn, a senior, led the Warriors with 16 rushes for 135 yards.

Stietz, also a senior, scored on a 19-yard run and a 5-yard run in the first half. He carried the ball 10 times for 76 yards.

Senior Austin Meier returned an interception 42 yards for a touchdown, and senior Joe Quinn returned a kickoff 63 yards for a TD.



Beloit Turner 44, Brodhead-Juda 43

BELOIT - Juan Reyes ran for three touchdowns and passed for one touchdown to help Beloit Turner stun Brodhead-Juda.

Beloit Turner racked up 350 total rushing yards. Brodhead-Juda senior running back Dylan Kubly had three touchdown runs to lead the Cardinals.

With the loss, Brodhead-Juda drops to 4-3, 4-1 Rock Valley South and into a first place tie with Walworth Big Foot.

Brodhead-Juda plays at Evansville-Albany (7-0), the top team in the Rock Valley North Conference in a showdown game that will count in the conference standings.

Brodhead-Juda junior Matt Schmitt passed for 94 yards and one touchdown coming on a 1-yard strike to Peter Bouc. Brodhead-Juda's Jake Pickel also had an 8-yard TD run.



DARLINGTON 57, SOUTHWESTERN 12

HAZEL GREEN - Hunter Johnson scored four touchdowns and rushed for more than 200 yards, and Trevor Johnson scored three TDs to launch the Redbirds past the Wildcats.

Unbeaten Darlington (7-0), the second-ranked team in AP's small-division state prep poll, built a 43-12 advantage by halftime.

Quarterback Jared Meister attempted just three passes in the game and his two completions went for touchdowns.

Hunter Johnson scored on runs of 67, 3 and 26 yards. He carried the ball nine times for 202 yards. He also caught a 60-yard touchdown pass.

Trevor Johnson scored on an 18-yard run, a 7-yard pass and a 75-yard kickoff return. He carried the ball seven times for 115 yards.

Conrad Blosch scored Darlington's first TD on a 2-yard run less than 5 minutes into the game. He also ran in the two-point conversion. Blosch rushed 11 times for 82 yards.



In another game Friday involving an area team, Evansville-Albany routed Whitewater 46-0 to remain unbeaten at 7-0 and clinch the Rock Valley North Conference title.
