WHITEWATER — Brodhead graduate Abbie Dix was nominated for the Kwik Trip Athlete of the Week for Sept. 2-8.

Dix and the UW-Whitewater women’s volleyball team had three matches in the University of Northwestern Invite Sept. 6-7.

The Warhawks (8-0, 0-0 WIAC), ranked No. 4 in the Sept. 10 AVCA Division III poll, defeated No. 20 Berry in three sets 25-13, 25-21, 25-16. In that game, Dix led the team with two blocks. 

Later that day, UWW knocked off No. 22 Cornell College in four sets 25-20, 25-27, 25-15, 25-22. Dix tallied four kills, two blocks and two digs.

In their final game of the invite, Whitewater defeated No. 12 University of Northwestern in three sets 25-13, 25-20, 25-13. Dix led the team with eight blocks and  was third with six blocks. 

Others nominated also include Kaitlyn Erickson (Eau Claire), Taylor Larson (La Crosse), Lauren Grier (Oshkosh), Bri Gartner (Platteville), and Audrey Peterson (River Falls). Terrah Moshier (Stout) claimed the honor. She totaled 73 digs in four matches during the week (5.62 digs a set). Moshier currently leads the WIAC in digs per set (5.70) and is 27th in the nation.
