MONROE - The Monroe High School dance team is going to the state dance competition in La Crosse Saturday, Feb. 5.
The MHS dance team qualified for the state dance competition in Division 2 jazz and hip hop based on the southern regional Saturday in Watertown. Monroe has only had a dance team for three years, and this is the first time in school history that Monroe has qualified for the state dance competition.
Monroe placed fourth in jazz and tied for second in hip hop to qualify in both events.
There were three regionals held on Saturday a Western Regional in Eau Claire, a Eastern Regional in Oshkosh and a Southern Regional in Watertown.
The team will head to La Crosse Saturday, Feb. 5 for the state competition. The team will perform both routines on Saturday, hip hop at 4:30 p.m. and jazz at 6:30 p.m.
