Sugar River earns share of Capitol, again

WATERTOWN — The Sugar River boys’ soccer team (15-1-1, 7-0-0) defeated Watertown Luther Prep (4-8-2, 2-3-2) 3-0 for at least a share of the Capitol conference title on Tuesday, Oct. 8. The victory also extends the team’s winning streak to seven games.

Aiden Hatleberg contributed to each score, as he recorded two goals and one assist. He leads the team with 24 goals and nine assists on the season.

Hatleberg’s first goal was unassisted, while Brycen Teasdale chipped in for the assist on Hatleberg’s second goal. Reid Nolden scored the second goal for Sugar River, assisted by Hatleberg. 

In net, Clayton Streiff recorded five saves.

The Raiders finish their regular season with a game against Cambridge/Deerfield (7-6-1, 3-3-1) on Tuesday, Oct. 11.


MONONA GROVE 10, MONROE 0

MONONA GROVE — The Monroe Cheesemakers (0-16, 0-7 Badger West) lost a conference crossover game to Monona Grove (13-2-1, 6-0-1 Badger East) on Thursday, Oct. 6. 

Monroe begins its conference tournament with a game against Portage/Poynette (9-12, 1-6) on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 5 p.m.
