BELLEVILLE — Sugar River went unbeaten in its own tournament April 13 at Belleville High School.
The Raiders defeated Dodgeville-Mineral Point in the opener 4-0, and then squared away the La Crosse Aquinas 1-0.
In the win over Dodgeville-Mineral Point (1-3), Ellie Gentilli opened the scoring in the eighth minute, with Kristen Krantz making it 2-0 in the 27th minute. Kallie Ace scored off a pass from Sydney Gentilli in the 48th minute to kick off the second half to make it 3-0. Sydney Gentilli then got in on the scoring action, knocking one into the back of the net just 90 seconds later off a pass from Jaylynn Benson.
Rachael Heittola faced zero shots in net for Sugar River, which dominated possession throughout.
In the Raiders’ second game of the day, Heittola needed to save just one shot, while Ace won it off a pass from Rylee Hubbard.
Aquinas (2-1) was ranked No. 7 in the Division 4 Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association poll, while Sugar River (7-1) was ranked fifth in D3. Racine Case was slated to attend the quad, but was unable to attend.
