BELLEVILLE — The Raiders got back-to-back goals from Aiden Hatleberg less than two minutes apart from one another in the first half, which paced Sugar River to a 3-1 victory over Lakeside Lutheran on Sept. 13. With the win, the Raiders improve to 6-1-1 on the season, and stay unbeaten in three Capitol Conference games.

Hatleberg broke through the defensive line for a breakaway goal at the 13:36 mark in the first half to put his team ahead 1-0. Less than two minutes later, he had the ball on the left side of the box, but dribbled through the middle between defenders and launched a goal passed the Lakeside keeper, making it 2-0.

The Warriors didn’t give up, however, and found a way to sneak a goal beyond the reach of Sugar River keeper Clayton Streiff in the 36th minute.

In the second half, the Raiders went back up by two scores, as Eli Leonard scored off an assist from Hatleberg. Jack Douma and Brady Mousseau also had assists on the night for Sugar River, which is ranked No. 7 in Division 3 according to the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association.

The Raiders were set to travel to River Valley for a nonconference game on Sept. 15, then return home for another nonconference game against Mount Horeb at 4:45 p.m. on Sept. 17. League play resumes Sept. 20, when Sugar River hosts Columbus.

In other area soccer action, Reedsburg defeated Monroe 7-1. The Cheesemakers were at Fort Atkinson Sept. 16.
