BLANCHARDVILLE — After dropping the first set to Monticello 25-18, Pecatonica gutted out three straight set wins — 26-24, 25-21, 25-23 — by a combined eight points to earn its second league victory on Sept. 10.

“We started off with some passing difficulty to our setter, but then turned that around and started moving our feet, which then gave us the ability to set up our hitters,” Pecatonica head coach Melissa Schlimgen said. “Communication has been a staple game changer for us, with our starting setter, Tatum Kurshner, still off the court through the match up. The team has really adjusted and has leaned on each other.”

Schlimgen said Kurschner was expected to return for the team’s match against Juda on Sept. 12.
