Monroe man faces trial for 6th OWI

MONROE — A rural Monroe man is facing his sixth OWI charge and felony bail jumping charges in court following his arrest last winter in Green County.

Ryan Todd King was arrested by county deputies on the OWI charge last February but faces a preliminary hearing on the charges in Green Circuit Court on Wednesday, Sept. 18. 

According to court records, he also was charged with tampering with an ignition interlock device, resisting arrest and three counts of felony bail jumping. He remains in Green County Jail on the charges.

The preliminary hearing set for Wednesday is before Circuit Judge Jane Bucher. If convicted of the charges, he faces anywhere from a minimum of six months, to a maximum 10 years in prison, plus fines and restitution.

The defendants arrest record in Green County includes previous convictions for felony substantial battery, felony taking a vehicle without consent, misdemeanor battery, and felony second-degree recklessly endangering safety.
