BELOIT — The Rock County Fury saw its season close with a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to Onalaska Feb. 18 in the sectional semifinal.

The Hilltoppers erased a 2-0 deficit and outscored the Fury 3-1 in the second period.

Alyssa Knauf scored two goals in the opening 8:19 of the game. The first came on a power play with assists from Haley Knauf and Anika Einbeck. Five minutes later, Haley Knauf found her sister Alyssa again.

Onalaska cut the lead in half with less than five minutes to play in the first period on a goal by Jaidyn Groshek.

The Hilltoppers made it 3-2 after two early goals in the second period. Haley Knauf tied it at 3-3 with a shorthanded goal off a pass from Mya Maslonka midway through the second.

With 6:58 left in the second, Kaley Manglitz gave Onalaska the lead for good.

The Hilltoppers outshot the Fury 36-32. Olivia Cronin had 32 saves in net for Rock County.
