Darlington, Belleville-Albany fall late

FENNIMORE - Ben Hertrampf caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Joe Carl in the fourth quarter to give Fennimore a 21-14 SWAL win over Darlington on Friday night.

Darlington (2-2) scored first on Alex Erickson's 5-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Jeff Reichling, who gained 95 yards on 19 carries, scored from 10 yards out in the second quarter to give the Redbirds a 14-7 lead.

But Fennimore scored twice in the second half. Hertrampf's 18-yard run tied the score, then the touchdown pass won it. Hertrampf caught 5 passes for 50 yards, and ran 15 times for 94 yards.

WATERTOWN LUTHER PREP 28, BELLEVILLE-ALBANY 27

At Watertown, Jon Schroeder threw for four touchdowns, the last a 7-yard, fourth-quarter strike to Jake Jenswold to put Luther Prep into position for the non-conference win. Schroeder's two-point conversion pass to Josh Schroeder gave Luther Prep the victory.

Belleville-Albany's Brendon Campbell's 9-yard touchdown run had given the Wildcats a 27-20 lead earlier in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Ryan Hendrickson ran for a 7-yard touchdown run and connected with Jeremy McDermott for a 62-yard pass for a score for Belleville-Albany. Hendrickson finished with 94 rushing yards on 21 carries and completed 4 of 10 passes for 142 yards.J
