Cardinals bats go silent in 5-0 loss to Whippets

BRODHEAD - The Cardinals were blanked by Whitewater Thursday afternoon, 5-0.

Andrew Brockwell took the loss on the mound for Brodhead, allowing 4 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits and 3 walks in five innings of work. He also struck out three.

At the plate, Brockwell finished 2-for-3.

Almonzo Friedly and Jake Miller also had hits for Brodhead. The Cardinals mustered up just four hits and struck out nine times at the plate.

Whitewater scored the first run of the game in the top of the second, then plated three more in the third. An insurance run was posted in the top of the seventh for good measure.
