Nyla Mae Dickau, age 87 of Browntown passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at her home after a long illness.
Nyla was the daughter of the late Carl and Sadie (Rasch) Gauger, born on January 9, 1931 at the farm in Wilmot, WI. She met her husband Marion “Pee Wee” Dickau when working at a restaurant in Burlington, WI. On February 3, 1951 Nyla was united in marriage to Marion V. Dickau. They bought a small farm in Wilmot, WI.
Nyla had a job working at the Burlington Rubber Factory, had an egg route weekly along with working on the farm.
In 1962 they bought a farm in Woodford; they retired from the farm in 1979 and moved to Monroe, in 2007 they moved to Browntown area.
Nyla enjoyed farming and always said “I wish I was still farming.” Carrying on that outside beauty she had large beautiful flower beds, garden and yard. She collected salt and pepper shakers as another hobby. Nyla worked very hard all her life.
She is survived by 4 children: Donna (Sonny) Larse of Gratiot, Darlene (Peter) Adamson of Waxahachie, TX, Diana (Roger) Krebs of Browntown, and Myron (Cindy) Dickau of Browntown; 7 grandsons and 7 granddaughters; 21 great grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Maier, sisters-in-law, Beverly Oswald and Maxine Bassett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marion in 2008, granddaughter, Stephanie Krebs in 1981, great-grandson, Bryson Dickau in 2017; sisters, Thelma Lewis, Delores Keller, Marles Kempkin, Geraldine Brown; brothers, Louis Gauger, Ray Gauger, Marlin Gauger and Marvin Gauger.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Cernek officiating. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery. A visitation was held Tuesday July 24th, from 10:00 am until the time of service.
