Jean Broge, age 92 of South Wayne passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at the New Glarus Home. She was born on March 2, 1934 the daughter of Wilbert and Daisy (Beach) Ott. She graduated from Monroe High School. On March 8, 1953 Jean married Richard Broge and they spent 61 years together before his passing in 2014.

Jean worked at the Monroe Telephone Company. After having children Jean did seasonal work at Swiss Colony. For ten years she was a front-end associate at Walmart. Jean was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church; where she was very active for almost 70 years, and held numerous positions in the church. She was formerly a member of the SW Women’s Organization. Jean enjoyed quilting, gardening, and canning. Above all she loved spending time with her family.

Jean is survived by her children, Michael (Jean) Broge of DeForest, Steven (Jane Larson) Broge of Andrew, IA, Thomas (Marta) Broge of New Berlin, Suzanne Hagen of South Wayne; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Donna Martin of Sheboygan, and Fred Ott of Evansville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Richard Ott, and sisters, Joyce Burkhalter and Marilyn Beckage.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Our Saviors Lutheran Church with Jeanette Thorp officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
